Green Entrepreneurship
Wild Awake was commissioned by the City of Helsinki Education Department to develop training and support for teachers to explore how nature can be used as inspiration for rethinking how business delivers products and services. The result was a 2-day training workshop with the following key features:

-
Exploring how nature provides a model for sustainability.
-
Understanding nature's sustainabilty principles.
-
Investigating business ideas in our community.
-
Developing new business proposals.
-
Linking with the curriculum.

There is increasing pressure for business to adopt sustainable models, and many businesses are responding positively. In the future, young people will be required to think and act entrepreneurially to both conserve the natural world we depend on and deliver goods and services for society.

To develop the training workshop we were inspired by a number of different resources, including:

-
Lessons from Nature - a project Richard led to develop nature--based solutions to sustainability.
-
Changing the World: a young persons guide to entrepreneurship.
-
Biomimicry 3.8, leaders in applying biomimicry thinking an design.
-
Earth Education with great approaches to reconnecting with nature.
